After much ado, HUMOURS brings forth their debut EP, The Onanist. One of Portland's best kept secrets, the sharp-as-tacks quartet fuses stripped-down '70s prog and '90s post-hardcore for technical, visceral, future rock. Theirs is a shining specimen of high ambition met with flawless execution, expertly flitting through complex progressions and movements with a mastery of dynamics, speed, and emotion buoyed by strong, melodic vocals. Shifts from serpentine guitar lines and odd time signatures to mediative bass grooves and killer hooks somehow make total sense in their skillful hands. A stimulating effort.
